Suman Kumari Joshi

Ms. Suman Kumari Joshi serves as the Executive Director of White Lotus Power Ltd, where she leads the development and management of the Hidi Khola Hydropower Project. She carries full responsibility for the project’s successful execution, dedicating her expertise, leadership, and time to ensure its timely completion with the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

A seasoned professional with a strong financial background, she earned her Master of Business Administration in Finance from Kathmandu University School of Management (KUSOM) in 2007. Her career spans significant roles in relationship management across leading financial institutions, including Machhapuchchhre Bank Ltd, Prime Commercial Bank Ltd, and NMB Bank Ltd. This experience has equipped her with a deep understanding of financial management, risk assessment, and stakeholder relations—skills she effectively applies in the hydropower sector.

Ms. Joshi’s commitment to advancing hydropower development is demonstrated by her active participation in numerous international seminars and specialized training programs. Notably, she attended the “Small Hydropower Success and Pitfalls” seminar in Trondheim, Norway, in 2019, which provided insights into sustainable small-scale hydropower development. She also participated in the South Asia Regional Initiatives for Energy Integration (SARI/EI) training on Hydropower Assessment and Financing held in New Delhi, India, in 2016 and 2017. Additionally, she completed a Techno-commercial Assessment training for hydropower projects in Brazil in 2017, further enhancing her technical and commercial expertise in the sector.

Her blend of financial acumen and technical knowledge positions her uniquely to drive projects that balance economic viability with sustainable energy goals. Ms. Joshi is known for her strategic vision, meticulous project management skills, and collaborative approach, which have significantly contributed to White Lotus Power Ltd’s ongoing success and growth in Nepal’s hydropower landscape.
